From April 1, 2026 the minimum wage in Israel has increased. It is due to everyone who works in Israel - citizens, repatriates and foreigners, including those who work without permissions: the minimum wage law does not depend on status.
| From April 1, 2026 | |
|---|---|
| Per month (full time) | 6 443,85 ₪ |
| Per hour (at 182 hours per month) | 35,40 ₪ |
| Per hour (at 186 hours per month) | 34,64 ₪ |
For youth under 18 years of age, reduced rates apply - this is a separate table.
What is included and what is not
- The minimum wage is the basic payment. Overtime, pay for work on Shabbat and holidays are considered from above: the first two hours above the norm - 125%, then - 150%.
- An employer can make deductions for housing and food only to the extent permitted by law, and they should be visible on the payroll sheet.
How to check that you are paid no less
- Record your hours every day: arrival, departure, breaks.
- Divide the “gross” amount for regular hours by the number of regular hours - you should get at least 35,40 ₪.
- Check with tlush: hours, rate, overtime.
In practice most vacancies for workers pay above the minimum wage:
at construction sites, factories and warehouses, the rate is usually 40–55 ₪ per hour. Real rates for specific
places of work - in employee reviews.
Do they pay less? Save your hours and correspondence. You can consult for free at organizations for the protection of workers’ rights, for example “Kav la-Oved” - more details in the article employee rights in Israel.
