🏝 How many vacation days are you entitled to in Israel?
The law counts days based on length of service with one employer.
The distribution is:
1–4 years → 14 days
5th year → 16
6th → 18
7th → 21
from the 8th - plus a day for each year, up to 28.
But these are calendar days according to the basic law for a 6-day week. If you work 5 days a week (which is the majority), the actual number of working days of vacation is different - usually lower in the early years and higher after the 6th.

② It is often said that unused days “burn out” after a couple of years. In reality, it is not so simple: by law, the employer is obliged to offer you to take vacation, and if he did not do this, the days do not expire automatically - even if several years have passed. If you were told that the days simply disappeared, it is worth clarifying whether you were actually offered to use them.
③ Upon dismissal, all accumulated days must be paid in money - this is called פדיון חופשה.
