In Russian-speaking groups of “black lists” of Israeli employers, stories almost repeat themselves verbatim. We collected signs by which people realized in hindsight that there was something wrong with the intermediary. not like that. One sign is not a death sentence, but several at once are a serious reason to stop.
Before departure
- Money for “booking a vacancy” or “place.” Paying for air is a major red flag. A normal company charges for specific services under a contract.
- There is no contract or they promise to “send it later.”
- They are in a hurry to translate: “last place”, “price will rise tomorrow.”
- They promise “100% border passage” or teach what to say to the border guard. No one can guarantee entry - the officer decides.
- Do not name the employer and city before payment.
- The salary is much higher than the market without a clear explanation: the rate for physical work is easy to compare with real vacancies.
After arrival
- Conditions change: different job, different city, different rate than promised.
- They rent more for housing than agreed upon, or require additional payment upon check-in.
- There is no tlush - a pay slip - and the salary is paid “as it happens.”
- They take away or “temporarily store” your passport. This is illegal, you must have your passport.
- They delay wages with the promise “next month everything will be together.”
- Disappear when a problem arises: they don’t answer in messengers, they change their number.
How to check in advance
Press the intermediary's number and read employee reviews at IsraWork review. Step-by-step plan - in the article how to check an employer, and general safety rules when looking for work are in the article how to avoid scammers.
Have you encountered it yourself? The post in the group will disappear in a week, and the review on
IsraWork will be found by name and number by those to whom this office will be offered tomorrow.
Leave a review - the company will be able to respond, but not delete it.
