👨🎓 SUMMER WORK FOR TEENAGERS IN ISRAEL: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

Summer holidays are not only a vacation, but also an opportunity to earn your first money. It is important to know your rights before applying for employment.

🔹 At what age can you work?

✔️ From 15 years old - during the school year

✔️ From 14 years old - during school holidays

✔️ Up to 15 years of age, only light types of work are allowed

💰 Minimum wage for teenagers in 2026:

▪️ Under 16 years old - 26.07 ₪ per hour

▪️ Under 17 years old - 27.94 ₪ per hour

▪️ Under 18 years old - 30.92 ₪ per hour

⚠️ The employer has no right to pay less than the established minimum.

⏰ Working hours

✔️ Under 16 years of age cannot work from 20:00 to 08:00

✔️ For those aged 16–18, you can work until midnight during the holidays if your employer provides transportation home

✔️ Under 16 years old - no more than 8 hours a day

✔️ Over 16 years old - no more than 9 hours a day

✔️ No more than 40 hours per week

📌 Important to know

✅ Salary is paid from the first hour of work

✅ “Free internships” and unpaid training are illegal

✅ Travel compensation is due

✅ Overtime for teenagers is prohibited

✅ After 6 hours of work there is a break of 45 minutes

✅ Within 7 days, the employer is obliged to issue written working conditions

✅ Before starting work, you must obtain permission from your family doctor

🔍Where to look for work?

✔️ In each branch of the Employment Service, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12:30, receptions are held for young people who want to find a job.

✔️ In June, special job fairs for teenagers and young people are held in many cities in Israel. There you can directly meet employers and find part-time work for the summer.
