Hanukkah, the holiday of light, begins in Israel! 🍩🌟
This year it runs from the evening of December 14th to the evening of December 22nd.
According to legend, after the liberation of the Temple, only one jug of oil for the menorah was found, but the fire miraculously burned for eight days.
In memory of this, the Hanukkiah is lit every evening:
✨ every day they add one more candle
✨ donuts and pancakes are fried in oil
✨ the streets are filled with light, smells and the feeling of a quiet holiday
But something else is important.
👉 In Israel, Hanukkah is not a “picture from a tape.”
These are ordinary evenings of ordinary people who live and work here:
after their shift they return home, light candles, go outside, where there are lights in almost every window.
And at such moments you understand especially clearly:
moving is not only work and documents, it is a life in which there are traditions, rhythm and a feeling of home.
If you want such evenings to be not only in your feed, but in your reality, write to us in direct message the word “I WANT”.
We will tell you:
• what are the options for working in Israel?
• how do you prepare for the trip?
• and how to make sure that you celebrate the next Hanukkah here. @wonashekel ✍️
