🔥 The President of Israel met with the heroines of the Fire Service 🚒🇮🇱
In honor of International Women's Day, President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal held a special meeting with women members of the Fire and Rescue Service.
Three women who changed the face of the service were present at the meeting:
Yamit Aharon is the first female firefighter in Israeli history. She blazed the trail 21 years ago and today is passing on her experience to future first responders at the National College of Firefighting.
Shir Erez is an active fighter at Ayalon Station.
Orit Mulla is an active fighter at the Beer Sheva station.
What did they talk about over a cup of tea?
The heroines shared stories of saving people from fire, from rubble and in the most difficult scenarios. They talked about the moments when they had to carry babies and elderly people in their arms, and about the incredible feeling of satisfaction when they managed to save an entire family.
💬 President's wife Michal Herzog noted:
“I'm proud of you. You are living proof that women can do anything. Today we see women in positions of great responsibility, and you bring a unique perspective and special tenacity to this profession.”
The heroines emphasized that there are no closed doors for women in military structures. Their personal example inspires thousands of young Israeli women to choose the path to save lives, despite past stereotypes.
The President thanked the firefighters for their invaluable contribution to the country's security both in peacetime and during emergencies.
