The end of the month means that carcasses for August will begin to arrive next week. For those who have been meaning to check their payslip, but haven’t gotten around to it, this is an opportune moment: it takes about two minutes for one month.

What to look for first:

— Rate per hour. The minimum is 35,40 ₪, and in cleaning and security 39,11 ₪ (according to the industry expansion order).

- Hours and overtime. Everything in excess of 8 hours 36 minutes a day (with a five-day week) goes at 125% - the first two hours, then 150%.

- Pension. There should be three deductions, not one: 6% from you, 6.5% from the employer and 6% (or 8.33%). It usually starts after 6 months of work, and in cleaning and security - immediately.

If something doesn’t add up, don’t panic or swear right away: often it’s rounding or another method of calculation. But it’s worth asking the accounting department - they are more willing to deal with the issue in a recent month than in a year.
