What to do if you were fired before the holidays
First: don't wait for October.
Unemployment benefits begin to be calculated from the day you register with the Employment Service, and not from the day you were fired.
You can register online at taasuka.gov.il on any day, even when branches are closed for holidays. But only the first step can be completed online: within 14 days you need to come to the branch at your place of residence and complete registration. The application to Bituah Leumi is submitted using the same single form; you do not have to go separately.
Please note: the first five days of unemployment are not paid.
If you left your job, your right to benefits remains, but there will be no payments for the first 90 days after leaving work. You still need to register immediately.
You won’t have to wait 90 days if you were forced to leave: your conditions noticeably worsened, you faced harassment, you left for health reasons, or you moved. The reason must be supported by documents.
While the registration process is in progress, you can’t put off your job search.
Write to us in private messages what you did before, and we will see what vacancies are suitable for you.
Please give it a ❤️ if it was helpful.
