Bituach Leumi waives fees for some repatriates

The Knesset approved an amendment that concerns new immigrants from the United States. We are talking about those who moved to Israel, but work remotely for an American company.

Previously, a strange situation arose: a person paid social contributions in the USA, but at the same time there was an obligation to pay contributions in Bituach Leumi. Even despite agreements between countries.

What the new amendment provides:

⏩repatriates from the United States working for American companies are exempt from contributions to Bituach Leumi;

⏩the benefit is valid for the first five years after receiving the status of a new repatriate;

⏩the rule so far applies only to employees of American companies.

The law has already been passed by the Knesset in the second and third readings.
