Google is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to research and implement generative AI models for the Waze team in Israel.
📌 Requirements:
Required:
• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Economics, OR, Engineering or equivalent education.
• Either 5+ years of analytics experience with Python/R/SQL and statistical analysis, or 3+ years with a PhD.
Desirable:
• PhD or Master's in Data Science, CS or related field.
• 7+ years of experience solving real-world problems using ML/statistics.
• Experience in generative AI: creation, evaluation of AI agents, working with LLM, synthetic data. ()
• Ability to work with TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.
• Experience in large data pipelines (BigQuery), MLOps, GCP/Vertex AI.

The team is responsible for analytics and experimentation at Waze, from mapping and recommendations to growth and communications.
• You develop evaluation methodologies and infrastructure for generative AI agents, including the creation of synthetic data, its accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers and PMs to implement Gen‑AI solutions.
• Translate complex technical results into understandable and actionable insights for all stakeholders.
• Lead generative AI and agent implementation projects, improving user experiences such as voice guidance and geospatial analytics.
